Mark Campbell

Akh Gold Chairman

Mr Campbell is based in Cairo and has over 40 years of experience in the mining, investment banking and petroleum industries, with 31 of those years being in Egypt. He is the retired former President and CEO of TSX-V listed Aton Resources Inc, having served as a director between 2009 and 2021. Mr Campbell was a former consultant to Pharaoh Gold Mines, a wholly owned subsidiary of LSE and TSX listed Centamin Plc. Prior to this he was involved in the drilling and oilfield services business, primarily operating in Egypt and Sudan. In addition, Mr Campbell has held senior positions with a number of investment banks, including Salomon Brothers Inc, First Boston Corporation and Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb Inc. Mr Campbell studied petroleum geology at Texas Tech University in the United States.

Werner Claessens

Chief Geologist

Werner is an experienced geologist having spent over 35 years exploring for gold, particularly in West Africa notably with companies, including Etruscan Resources, Endeavour Mining and Sandspring Resources, including the discovery of the Diba gold project. He has developed and led international exploration teams managing projects from early-stage target generation to resource development and feasibility studies. Werner is fluent in English and French and will continue to be based in Africa. He holds a degree in geology from the Catholic University of Leuven and is a member of the European Federation of Geologists.

Andries Siebrits

Senior Consulting Geologist

Andries has over 30 years in gold and base metal exploration, with extensive experience in Southern Africa, West Africa, the Middle East, and North America. Former Director of Greenfield Exploration at Maaden, Saudi Arabia and Exploration Manager IAMGOLD. Mr Siebrits holds a  BS, Geology/Earth Science from the University of Port Elizabeth and is a Member of P.Geo. – Engineers & Geoscientists, British Columbia.

Haytham Negm

Finance Manager

Financial and administrative manager with over 14 years’ experience in Egypt. Hytham holds a Diploma in Financial Accounting from Ain Shams University. Prior to joining, he gained extensive corporate accounting experience, having previously worked in the mining and petroleum sectors, and most recently as Financial and Administrative Manager for Ankh Resources.

Sally Ahmed

Administration & Logistics Manager

Administration and logistics professional and geoscientist with over 6 years’ experience in Administration, gold and water resources exploraiton in Egypt. Sally holds an MSc in Geophysics from Ain Shams University, Egypt. Prior to joining, Sally gained extensive administration and geological experience at Thani Egypt, REGWA and AIG.

Will Slater

SVP Royalty Generation

Will is an exploration geologist with over 15 years of experience across Africa on a range of commodities including gold, copper, iron and bauxite. He has been involved in the development of early stage projects from reconnaissance through to resource stage and beyond. His previous experience includes working on geotechnical and environmental aspects of major infrastructure projects in the UK. He holds a Master's degree in Applied Geology from the University of Leicester and is a fellow of the Geological Society of London.

James Tennant

VP Royalty Generation

James is an exploration geologist with over 10 years' experience in Africa on a variety of commodities. James holds an MSc in Mining Geology from the Camborne School of Mines and a BSc in Geology from the University of Manchester. Prior to joining, he gained experience in Greenland with Avannaa Resources and has since worked extensively on a range of projects in Morocco, Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon and Ethiopia.

Ahmed Salama

Senior Geologist

Exploration geologist with over 10 years’ experience in Egypt on a variety of commodities including gold, base metals and industrial minerals. Ahmed holds a BSc from the Geology and Chemistry department of the Ain Shams University, Egypt. Prior to joining, he gained extensive experience with Matz Holdings, Thani Ashanti and the Golden Pyramid Group.
